Ahhh the quiet, no one is here today and projects are current (not the phone list however.)

A few days ago, last weekend actually, the forecast was for some significant rainfall before heading home, I checked the boat to make sure the scuppers were clear, removed a dead bird from the cockpit and satisfied myself that the boat would be ok for a few more days. That moment made me realize I had not re-connected with one of my favorite authors, Patrick O'brian, so on the way home stopped at the book store and picked up an installment of Jack Aubrey and Steven Maturin's cruises (where I had left off) "The Reverse of the Medal." While I was there I also selected Bernard Cornwell's "Sharpe's Eagle" so I could follow the Lieutenant's next adventure. Now I always figured these to be very masculine stories; but with the film release of "Master and Commander" and a remark from my daughter about O'brian 'these are Jane Austin on the water', I feel more assured to recommend the individual series to anyone.
